The Koto area of Shiga Prefecture where Furukawa Automotive Systems is based is well known as the place of origin of the Merchants of Omi.
The spirit of these merchants as evinced in their principle of “Sanpo-yoshi,”
in which what benefits you should also benefit your partners and society at large is part of our own basic philosophy too.
Based upon the principle of being a good member of society,
we contribute to society through our business and in the ways outlined below.
We have a volunteer leave system giving our employees time off to engage in volunteer activities. Through this system employees can use accumulated paid or unpaid holidays to work as volunteers, increasing their awareness of making social contributions.
Twice a year Furukawa Automotive Systems admits the blood donor bus into their grounds for group blood donations. Each year approximately 150 people donate their blood.
By collecting up PET bottle caps we cooperate with supplying vaccines to children in developing nations while also reducing garbage. We also collect the pull tabs of empty cans for donations for the sake of wheelchairs.
Furukawa Automotive Systems and their two affiliates FAPV and FASV (Vietnam) are supporting through donations an aid foundation for the ill, disabled people or orphans in Ben Tre Province, Vietnam, where FASV is located.
FAPV (Vietnam) also cooperated by inviting junior high school students from the local Japanese school to visit its factory and experience working inside it.
